Joan Namkoong -- author Family Traditions in Hawai'i and Go Home, Cook Rice: A Guide to Buying and Cooking the Fresh Foods of Hawai'i -- has fueled the growth of farmers' markets in her state. As a local food writer, she comments on the history of food in Hawaii and predicts where its going as well as offering her recipe for Poke.
